Dog Beach Closure

We received the following notice from the City of San Diego:

The County's Department of Environmental Health has closed Dog Beach stating that bacteria levels exceed health standards. Avoid water contact in the advisory area. It is not yet determined if the bacterial levels are the result of the recent sewage spill. Bacterial exceedances in the mixing zone could be the result of natural bird populations in the area, rotting seaweed or a variety of other sources.
