2020 reverse holiday parade entrant interest survey

2020 ocean beach holiday parade 🎄

Dear friends of the Ocean Beach Holiday Parade,

First off - thank you for patience. We know that many of you have reached out to us wondering what's happening with this year's parade. We have been working with San Diego City and County officials over the past months to determine what would be a feasible celebration of the holidays in Ocean Beach this year given all that 2020 has brought to the world, and indeed, to our humble beach town.We are excited to share that we are very close to having our plans approved, and we're able to share a bit of those plans with you today. Please know that nothing is confirmed and if you are receiving this email, you are the first to hear of this. We would appreciate your discretion in keeping the information in this email private, considering that we can't make any promises at this point.Considering that things will look different for this year's parade, we're coming to you to gauge your interest level. It's you, the float participants, who make the parade as magical as it is. Without you, there is no parade. So, we're hoping that you'll be willing to embrace the craziness of 2020 with us and try something brand new so that OBceans can experience a bit of holiday magic this season. Here's the deal (and remember, the following information is tentative, and pending city approval)• The 2020 OB Holiday Parade will be a "reverse-parade" - officially, the 2020 OB Holiday Reverse-Parade• Reverse-parade will be held at the Dog Beach parking lot• Entrants will be stationary in a 30' x 10’ space• You may utilize the space for traditional parade 'float elements', or this is a great opportunity to get creative and think outside the box of what a normal ‘float/entry’ would look like…• We are expecting to be able to accommodate approximately 75 entrants total• Number of participants allowed in the entrant space will be limited in accordance with current county/city regulations (not likely to be more than 10)• Parade attendees will move through the route in vehicles (there will be no pedestrians, bikes, etc. - think Del Mar Parade of Lights style)• Attendees will be required to make advanced reservations and a precise limited number of vehicles will be permitted• Reverse-parade will be open from 5-8pm for attendee viewing• You would be able to purchase multiple spaces to accommodate for a larger entry• This year’s theme is Home For The Holidays• Special entry accommodation for vehicle-only entries / vehicle groups will be available - reach out to us for more informationWe need your support and feedback to start the process of putting this reverse-parade together. If you'll take this very quick, 2-question survey, to let us know your plans this year, we'd be very appreciative. Don't hesitate to reach out with questions to either of us, or at [email protected] to the holidays in OB,Corey BruinsHoliday Parade [email protected] LoganHoliday Parade [email protected]
